Mark Golamco: The Dance of Ted Dragon

SET UP:Mark Golamco will be needing to use the main space to downstairs for REHEARSAL and for setting up his VIDEO PROJECTIONS.
It will be a minimal set up downstairs- 3 panels will be installed in the center of the room to serve as areas for projection mapping.
Upstairs in the smaller room, Mark will be installing a video piece and some 2-D work.
12/18- Performance -Evening One: The Dance of Ted Dragon
New York City Ballet Dancer, Lover, Muse and Outlaw. Ted Dragon was all these things. Through original songs and choreography, artist Mark Golamco tells the story of Ted Dragon’s passionate existence among the Hampton’s social elite and artist circles and how his eccentricities led to certain consequences.
12/19- Performance -Evening Two: Night at Cafe Dancer
Since it’s establishment in 2013, Mark Golamco has been performing monthly as a singer, self-accompanied on the viola at Cafe Dancer. This is an artist’s space in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Mark brings Cafe Dancer to HRLA by presenting elements of the space (a projection of the street window, a portion of the bar) as well as the music he performs there live. Guest artists TBA.
Mark Golamco is an artist that lives in New York. He is a classically trained violist from San Francisco who grew up playing in Orchestras, but went solo as he began to study and practice visual art at UCLA. Later, he received an MFA in Painting from RISD. His work combines music performance and art installations that are reflective of his personal history. He has performed at The Whitney Museum of American Art, NY, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY, The RedCat Theater, LA and is currently an Artist in Residence at Cafe Dancer, NY.
